PAULO CARDOSO
HEAD INSTRUCTOR
Paulo has been training in the Martial Arts since 1989. His training is built on a foundation of Karate, Seiwakai Goshukan, Karate-do Goju Ryu. Paulo is a Rokudan (6th Degree Black Belt) in Seiwakai Goshukan, Karate-do Goju Ryu and is also ranked through the Japan Karate-do Federation (JKF).
Cardoso Shihan was presented with a Renshi Certificate on October 13, 2018 from Seiwakai International.
Over the years he has also become proficient in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, following the Franco Behring Brazilian Jiu Jitsu lineage.
In 2006, Paulo received his Purple Belt from Grandmaster Alvaro Baretto in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and in 2011 he earned his Black Belt through Master Sylvio Behring. His most recent BJJ influences include Master Rilion Gracie.
Paulo is a senior student of Ama Guro Jun de Leon who founded Kali de Leon, a Filipino Martial Art. Kuya Paulo has achieved the rank of 10th Level in Kali de Leon.
Ama Guro Jun is an inspiring mentor and gifted martial artist with double sticks and knives.
Mr. Cardoso has worked to propagate the martial arts for many years. He has instructed programs in an academy setting; in Elementary and Secondary Schools’ Physical Education programs (for Toronto and Peel School Boards); Parks and Recreation, public service organizations and corporations.
He has proven to be an effective instructor to students as young as 4 years old, and his enthusiasm and attention to detail has built him a sound reputation.
Paulo continues to train and seeks new information, in hopes that his own passion for the Martial Arts can inspire others in their own path of self-development.
